Medicine Rock Community Wellness Center
7 Directions Architects/Planners engaged the Klamath community in a 6 month master planning, programming and design process to develop this proposed facility designed to improve the health and wellness of Klamath tribal members and the Chiloquin community. The $100,000 process included extensive community meetings, “kit-of-parts” workshops, programming exercises, as well as interviews with stake–holders and analysis of demographic data. The project includes a tournament basketball arena, aquatic center, exercise rooms, skate park, sweat lodge area and outdoor interpretive trail. The complex is designed to reflect the villages of circular earth lodges which were the original dwellings of the Klamath Tribes people.
