Keya Wakpala Housing Community
The Keya Wakpala Housing Community is a master-planned development consisting of single family housing types. Homes are situated on half acre lots and include Grow Homes that can grow from 2 bedrooms up to 5 bedrooms, Courtyard Homes, Elder Homes, and Accessory Dwelling Units as an option for future multi-generational housing. The site is protected from NW winds by tree windbreaks. The site and homes are designed to reflect and celebrate the Sicangu Lakota culture by emulating a traditional encampment with the homes in a circle surrounding a common area and a primary eastern access into the site. Additionally, homes include a circular gathering space and tall singles in an A-frame type structure that emulate tepee lodges of the tribe.
