Laila S. Montenegro, Associate AIA, Architectural + Interior Designer

Laila Montenegro is a Multi-Cultural Nicaraguan (Miskito), Project Architect & Project Manager. She has 21 years of Architectural Design experience and completed her Master of Architecture in 2017 from The Academy of Art University of San Francisco, which focused on Sustainable Architecture and Urban Planning. Laila’s design methodology focuses on environmental preservation and cultural art integration. She has extensive knowledge in Interior Design, Native American Architecture and Design-Build residential and commercial projects. She has volunteered in several grassroots projects in the Philippines, Israel, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Canada and several states across the United States. She facilities a collaborative community engagement process with a series of kit-of-parts (visioning, programming & design) workshops conducted with those who will reside or work in the building(s) to have a direct voice in the planning and design of a project.
